About Goliath

House Goliath is located in the most polluted areas of the hive. The living and working condition of House Goliath members have made them especially strong in order to survive their harsh environment - there is no weak Goliath, for they die quickly. Taking pride in their stature, they look down on other Houses, degenerate and weak to their eyes.

Comments

At first, I was not interested in Goliath at all, but I aknowledged later they add an interesting diversity to the game - no other gang has the same raw strength and they can get very characterful skills.

Despite their apparent simplicity, playing a Goliath gang is quite difficult. Their predictable tactic - assault! - isn't backed up by any special ability, like all the Escher movement skills or the Delaque stealth skills. Hence reaching opponent requires consideration, especially since you are likely to be outnumbered because of all the casualties suffered on your way there.

The gang roster is quite basic - 1 leader, 2 heavies, 6 gangers and 3 juves. Since I didn't want to spend too much, all gangers come from the plastic models of Necromunda boxed set. Unfortunately, their quality could not compare to Orlocks' plastics. Plastic Goliath gangers have two poses but both are very similar, so it's not helping out when trying to get diversity. Goliath plastic arms used for weapon swap are not very versatile either, since they all hold their weapon the same way.

I have a good number of Goliath Gangers remaining but I saw no point in having more than 6 of them, considering how difficult it was to have them look different. I want to push up their numbers, I'll throw in a couple metal Goliath models.
With a simple head swap, the remaining plastics could easily become orks.
